Quaint beach bungalow in a fishing village

Beachfront bungalow located on a peaceful sandy beach, in a typical fisherman's village, with amazing sea views. This charming bungalow is ideal for a couple or a family with two children, wishing to experience the authentic Mauritian lifestyle, whilst enjoying the flexibility of a fully equipped private home.

The space
Designed to enjoy the outdoors, this one-bedroom bungalow offers a delightful terrace overlooking a long private tropical garden from where you can enjoy the spectacular views over the lagoon and the northern islands (Gunner’s Quoin and Flat Island), as well take in the breathtaking sunsets.

Featuring an outdoor shower, sun loungers, a plancha (grill) and a barbecue for your feasts under the stars, this bungalow has everything that you need for a perfect beach holiday. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave and coffee machine. There is a TV (cable) in the living room, as well as high speed internet, which is accessible until the very end of the lush garden. There is one air conditioned bedroom, a separate bathroom and the dining table is set under the covered terrace. The sofas in the living room can be converted into two beds for children.

The lagoon directly in front of the bungalow is perfect for "sea bathing" and relaxing as quite shallow waters. On the right side of the beach, there is a small natural “pool” protected by rocks, where parents can enjoy swimming with their small children, as the water level is not too deep. For those wishing to swim in deeper water, this is possible on the right side after the rocks where the boats are anchored.

Jacqueline and Juliette services the bungalow daily, except Sundays and public holidays and is always happy to cater to your needs. She is a great cook and loves preparing local dishes for guests (all ingredients to be provided by you). There is also Dewah, a very discreet gardener, who looks after the well manicured garden. When in season, you are more than welcome to enjoy the fresh coconuts and bananas. If you ask him with a smile, Dewah would be delighted to help you out with that!

The bungalow has been furnished over the years by the owners, Carol and her husband Philip. They live in the adjacent house - on the left side of the entrance. As a child, Carol used to spend her school holidays in Grand-Gaube. Her whole family later decided to settle there. Most of her sisters and brothers live in the next door houses (on the cove), so you may bump into them during your stay. They are all very friendly and welcoming and are always willing to have a chat and give recommendations/assistance if needed.
