Stunning beachfront villa located on a peaceful sandy beach, in a typical fisherman's village, boasting amazing ocean views. This charming villa features bright, open spaces, and is perfect for a family with children or a group of friends. If you are looking to experience the authentic Mauritian lifestyle, whilst enjoying the comfort and flexibility of a fully equipped private home, this villa is ideal for you.
The space
The villa features a spacious covered terrace overlooking a long tropical garden, with breathtaking views of the lagoon and the northern islands (Gunner’s Quoin and Flat Island). It’s the perfect spot to enjoy spectacular sunsets, relax in the evening, or share memorable meals with family and friends.
Outside, you’ll find a lovely private pool and a barbecue area — ideal for relaxed beach days and dinners under the stars. For children’s safety, a frameless glass pool balustrade has recently been installed, ensuring peace of mind without obstructing the view.
Inside, the villa offers a comfortable TV lounge, an open-plan breakfast and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen with a built-in oven, microwave, dishwasher, and Nespresso coffee machine. Cable TV and high-speed internet are also available.
Sleeping Arrangements
The villa has three air-conditioned bedrooms. The master bedroom features an en-suite bathroom, and there are two additional bathrooms for guests’ convenience. The third bedroom is smaller and features a double bed. It can comfortably accommodate a couple, though the space is more cozy compared to the other bedrooms.
Beach & Lagoon
Directly in front of the villa is a turquoise lagoon with a small natural “pool” protected by rocks — perfect for parents to swim safely with young children. A larger, deeper lagoon is also accessible just to the right of the villa.
Services
Our wonderful on-site helpers, Quincy and Vina, service the bungalow daily (except Sundays and public holidays) and are happy to assist you whenever needed. Vina can also cook for you upon request and introduce you to delicious local dishes (ingredients to be provided by guests).
The garden is maintained three times a week by Navin, and the pool is professionally cleaned twice a week, ensuring the outdoor areas remain pristine throughout your stay.
A Home with a Story
This villa holds a very special place in my heart. It was where my mother spent her childhood holidays and where our family later settled permanently. I grew up here myself. Over the years, the house has been lovingly refurbished by my parents, and I am delighted to welcome guests to this renovated version of my family home.
Many of my mother’s siblings still live in the neighbouring bungalows, so you may occasionally meet them during your stay. They are warm, friendly, and always happy to share local recommendations or help when needed.
Next door, I also host guests at the Quaint Beach Bungalow in a Fishing Village, a charming one-bedroom bungalow belonging to my aunt. The two houses were originally one large family home before being separated.
Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the entire villa. Private parking is available in the garden at the entrance. The property features a long private garden with direct access to the beach and the sea.
Location - Grand Gaube
Grand-Gaube is an authentic fishing village in the north of Mauritius, perfect for travelers who wish to avoid crowded tourist areas while still being close to everything. The lively village of Grand-Baie is just 15–20 minutes away by car.
The large lagoon is ideal for kitesurfing and water sports, with a kite-surfing school less than a minute’s walk from the villa. Morning and sunset walks along the beach are highly recommended for the best light and scenery.
Within walking distance, you’ll find 1 local supermarket, a pharmacy, bus stops, and restaurants at nearby hotels. A car is essential for grocery shopping, dining out, and exploring the island. Port Louis, the capital, is approximately a 45-minute drive away (outside peak hours).
In nearby Calodyne (around 10 minutes by car), you’ll find a large supermarket, butcher, pastry shop, and fruit and vegetable market. Goodlands, also about 10 minutes away, offers a hypermarket (Super U) and a wide range of additional shops.
Other things to note
A car is recommended for daily needs and island exploration.
